Welcome to the Alderlea Medical Clinic

At the Alderlea Medical Clinic, we strive to provide full-service, up-to-date, and quality medical health care to our patients in a friendly and comfortable environment.

We hope you find our website useful. You will find clinic specific information as well as medical resources to help you navigate your medical needs within our community as well as some resources in neighbouring communities.

We are sorry, our clinic is not actively accepting new patients at this time, nor are we accepting referrals for prenatal and delivery care.

We are still accepting referrals for sports medicine consultation. You must be referred from your family doctor for these services.

**** If you are sick ****

If you have flu like symptoms or are worried about COVID symptoms, you may need COVID testing. You can complete the COVID-19 assessment tool if you are unsure by clicking here. Testing is now done as a drive through gargle or nasal swab, at your preference, and is open 7 days a week. Please call the COVID-19 Testing Call Centre at 1-844-901-8442 which is available daily from 8:30am – 8:00pm. Due to very high demand for testing right now, it may take up to a week to get your testing done so please self isolate if you think you may have any flu like symptoms.  You can find further up to date COVID-19 symptom and testing information here.

**** I have COVID…now what? ****

If you have been informed of a recent positive COVID result or been in contact with someone who was confirmed to have COVID and now have symptoms please self-isolate and manage your symptoms. Let your close contacts know who may have been exposed so they can also self isolate. Please refer here for further information on when you can end isolation and how to manage your symptoms. (BCCDC)

*** Alderlea Clinic COVID-19 Safety Plan ***

View our COVID-19 Safety plan

Dear Patients,

As the number of COVID cases has been continuously on the rise, it is even more important that we go through these next steps cautiously to reduce the risk of catching COVID and spreading it to the most vulnerable.

If you are feeling sick with possible COVID-19 (fever, new cough, breathing difficulty, etc) then stay home, no exceptions, and call 1-844-901-8442 to arrange a COVID-19 test ASAP. If unsure, you may call 8-1-1 or complete the online BC COVID-19 Self Assessment Tool (https://bc.thrive.health) or call our office for assistance/directions. If experiencing severe symptoms then call 9-1-1 (ambulance).

We will continue to accommodate patients virtually, mostly on the telephone and in some cases via video conference. In person care will continue to be arranged in our offices; however, we will not be able to see everyone in person because:

  • We must continue to reduce COVID risk and that means that the number of people in our office at any one time will be limited.
  • The risk of COVID continues to rise, and the regional Health Authorities require us to wear personal protective equipment (PPE—masks and in some cases eye protection, gloves and gowns) during all in-person encounters. We will provide you with a medical grade face mask to be worn at all times within our clinic in order to reduce potential droplet spread of the virus.
  • We must clean our exam rooms frequently to reduce the risk of COVID during visits—this extra cleaning time will limit the number of people we can see in our offices each day.
  • Virtual care is safe and effective for a number of conditions and the convenience is welcomed by a number of our patients.

We want to reassure you that safe care will continue at our office; however, please do not turn up in-person without a phone call and booked appointment. Please use the hand sanitizer upon entry and exit of the clinic and remember to practice physical distancing.

Yours Sincerely,

The Family Physicians and Office Assistants at Alderlea Medical Clinic
